Site Introduction

Site Introduction

This blog will be to provide match reports, scorecards, statistics, news, and other information from games I play using Lambourne/Owzat Games International Cricket, using IC Helper to help simulate the matches.
The matches will be using international teams and players from throughout history to replay and pre-play various matchups that interest me.
I have created a new database with Cricket Statz to record match scorecards, and relaxed my stance on the players I use, deciding to use current players sometimes even though their career stats and official IC cards are not yet finalized.
I decided my obsession with statistical accuracy was stopping me from fully enjoying the game, and that too many good matchups from the last 15 years would not have been possible until current players retired otherwise. Statistics achieved by older retired players with their final career card matching their career stats will never be 100% the same as real life anyway, so I don't mind that newer players current cards may not match their final official card, as near enough is good enough for me for older retired players anyway.
So this blog will cover many eras of International cricket, from 2017/8, back to 1876/7, and anywhere in between. Some matchups will feature exact lineups to replay certain matches, others will be less accurate but still representative of that nation at the time, or altered by random injuries or "form".
I may also experiment with domestic matches or other at some point, using the International Cricket Player Generator program I can create a card to use that will produce accurate statistics for any player in history I can find information on.
I hope to build up an alternative cricket history of my own, with it's own records and stat leaders, and over time it should develop into something comprehensive, spanning many eras, and including hundreds of players with their own career records achieved in these games.
That is enough of an introduction into what I hope to achieve, for now welcome to the site, and I hope you enjoy the matches to follow.
